During your tour, you will visit small wineries usually family run business to taste unbelivable wine. You will also learn how to tell the difference between the multiple varieties of wines, as well as learning the proper techniques to taste wine.
Great wine tastings at excellent Tuscan wineries don’t happen in 5 minutes at a wine bar in a big tasting room, but are more like an immersion into local culture. Tasting the wine is the reward for seeing the vineyards and cellars, all while meeting mesmerising personalities and hearing their stories – special encounters & memories that will linger forever!
Tuscany is home to a number of world-renowned wine regions, each producing distinct types of wine such as Chianti Classico, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Brunello di Montalcino, Nobile di Montepulciano and Bolgheri. These are all DOCG wines (Denomination of Origin Controlled and Guaranteed), which need to adhere to scrupulous rules when it comes to how they are produced.
The cellar at a winery is a magical place, full of life and ancient secrets. It’s the place where the wine matures day-after-day, evolving to achieve just the right color, flavor and bouquet. During my wine tours, you’ll have the opportunity to see what goes on in the cellar first hand and taste the end results. You’ll also have the chance to visit historical sites in these different wine producing regions, including medieval castles, abbeys, villages, fortresses and hamlets. Of course relaxing and enjoying some vino with traditional Tuscan food will also be in order!
